On June 8, over a thousand people peacefully marched from historic Mariachi Plaza in Boyle Heights to the Federal Detention Center in Little Tokyo in downtown Los Angeles. Centro CSO and other groups from the Community Self-Defense Coalition organized the peaceful march.
When we arrived at the Detention Center, currently holding hundreds of people as hostages, the California National Guard and LAPD immediately shot at the crowd with tear gas, rubber bullets, and flash bangs. Others and I had to duck and move behind cars to avoid the rubber bullets shot directly at us. Here’s the footage from that day.
