US War on Iran is a Fascist Threat to the World | Statements from Communist Parties in Palestine, Iran, and Israel

Donald Trump and the US military bombing multiple sites in Iran is a massive escalation of imperialist war in West Asia and another sign of the US being overtly fascist. Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz—three nuclear energy sites in western Iran—were illegally attacked by US B2 bombers on June 21.

The Trump regime and the Zionist entity have been claiming Iran is attempting to produce and develop nuclear weapons. However, Iran has been part of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) since 1958. The three sites that were bombed are regularly inspected by that agency to ensure Iran is developing nuclear energy for purely peaceful use. Iran is also part of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty—Israel isn’t.

Israel has an unknown number of nuclear warheads and is currently active in a near-century-long genocide. If there’s one country in West Asia that is a danger to the world, it’s Israel, which has bombed Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, Iran, and Palestine all within the last two years. Israel has also launched ground invasions in Syria and Lebanon at that time. Iran, since the revolution in 1979, has not invaded a single country. The Iran-Iraq War was caused by the US pushing its proxy at the time, Saddam Hussein, to invade Iran and illegally use chemical and biological weapons.

Since then, the US has invaded and bombed Iraq twice, Syria for a decade, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, and now Iran too. The real danger to the world is Western Imperialism, fascism, and colonialism. Iran retaliating with limited strikes against Israel after it has assassinated top leaders and bombed them for years isn't the catalyst for this episode. It is the centuries-long attempt to subjugate West Asia that must be rejected and militantly struggled against.

The party emphasized that this unsurprising aggression by the leader of imperialism and organized international terrorism is part of the United States' ongoing efforts to consolidate and strengthen its hegemony over the region.”

“The People's Party said that while expressing its solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran and affirming its right, as well as the right of all peoples of the region, to defend themselves, their national interests and the sovereignty of their countries, it calls on our Arab peoples, countries, political and societal forces to strengthen their unity and activate all their energies to confront the American-Israeli bullying and arrogance and their allies, and to thwart plans to violate the sovereignty of their countries, plunder their wealth and impose their hegemony over them, as well as to work to exert all possible pressure to immediately stop the genocide to which our people are being subjected and to support their national rights.”

Stop the Killing! End the War Now!

“The Tudeh Party of Iran and the Communist Party of Israel strongly condemn the continuous Israeli aggression in the region, and its latest attack on Iran which is in direct violation of international law. We demand an immediate halt to all military action resulting in significant civilian casualties on both sides.”

“The crimes committed by the right wing reactionary government of Benjamin Netanyahu in Gaza and the West bank with the support of US Imperialism, the UK and allies in the EU has not only resulted in more than 55,000 Palestinians losing their lives and over18,000 children being killed but hasalso given the Israeli government a green light for further aggression against countries of the region, with the aim of redrawing the map of the Middle East in accordance with the strategic goals of US imperialism. This is a government whose leaders have rightly been accused of crimes against humanity by the International Criminal Court.”

“While we are witnessing war and destruction in Iran and Israel, we also warn against the exploitation of the situation to intensify and continue the inhumane suffering and oppression of the Palestinian people in Gaza and the occupied West Bank. Israel and the US - after Iraq, Libya and Syria -are now determined to undermine Iranian sovereignty and will not stop until all regimes in the region are coerced under the same project of imperialism and hegemony in the Middle East that aims at subjugating the people's will and their right to self-determination.

We express our fundamental opposition to all nuclear armament programs in the Middle East and worldwide. The road to stop the nuclear race in the Middle East does not pass through an aggressive war on Iran, but rather goes via demilitarisation of the entire region of nuclear weapons, and the signing up of all its countries, including Israel, to a non-proliferation of nuclear weapons treaty.

We call upon on all progressive and freedom-loving forces in Israel, Iran, and the world to unite in condemning this blatant and brutal violation of international law and to focus all efforts on prevention of a far-reaching, destructive military conflict and the establishment of peace in the Middle East.

The global public must go beyond mere concern expressed by the UN Secretary-General over Israel’s attack on Iran. All international mechanisms available through the United Nations and its Security Council must be used to stop the region from plunging into a catastrophic far-reaching war.

“Statement by the Palestinian Communist Party Condemning the Zionist Aggression Against Iran

The Palestinian Communist Party strongly condemns the brutal Zionist aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which constitutes a blatant violation of international law and a direct threat to regional and international peace and security.

This aggression is part of the expansionist and aggressive policies pursued by the Zionist entity, which are not limited to the occupied Palestinian territories but extend to target all those who support national liberation causes and stand against imperialist and Zionist arrogance.

The Party affirms that this systematic targeting of Iran is part of a joint Zionist-American project aimed at imposing hegemony over the peoples of the region, sowing chaos and destruction in service of global capital interests, and striking at any axis of resistance that confronts these aggressive policies.

We in the Palestinian Communist Party express our full solidarity with the Iranian people and its progressive and national forces, affirming their right to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of their country.
